Robert W. Hollis

Robert W. Hollis is a Co-founder, CEO and Western Regional Managing Partner of Carnegie Partners, LLC.  He has more than twenty years of experience in management and executive search consulting and has hired more than 1,200 people throughout his professional career.

Prior to co-founding Carnegie Partners Mr. Hollis worked as an executive recruiter for a privately owned Chicago search firm and held a variety of management positions with multiple divisions of a Fortune 500 corporation where he had direct management responsibility for a workforce comprised of more than 300 managers and associates.

Mr. Hollis’ executive search experience includes a wide range of senior and mid-level sales and management positions and encompasses a variety of industries and functions. His project management experience includes leading executive development workshops to create individually customized performance plans for more than one-hundred-and-fifty Fortune 500 executives.

Mr. Hollis is past president of the Carnegie Mellon University Chicago Area Alumni Association and the SAE Chicago and Sacramento Area Alumni Associations.  He has served as an associate board member of the Union League Club of Chicago Boys and Girls Clubs and was twice elected to serve as a board member and officer of the California Resource Recovery Association, the largest and oldest state recycling association in the United States.  He has served as an elected public official in El Dorado Hills, CA, and as an electronics waste advisory group member for the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB).  He served as Co-coordinator of America Recycles Day for the State of California in 2004 and 2006 and is a co-founder and executive committee member of the California Sustainable Business Council. He has served as a member and Chairperson of numerous non-profit organization boards and development committees, and as Class Giving Chair for Carnegie Mellon University.  Mr. Hollis has served on the Education and Membership and Recruitment Committees for the California Special District Association, and as a Board Member of Universal Remediation, Inc, a hydrocarbon bioremediation company based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mr. Hollis has been a speaker at events for the Illinois Association of Personnel Services, Carlson Learning Company, the California Resource Recovery Association, the Northern California Recycling Association and the Science and Technology Council of the U.S. EPA.  He is the recipient of multiple Gold Consultant awards from Carlson Learning Company and has been hired by industry leading professional staffing firms to train their management teams in advanced interviewing, selection and development techniques.

Mr. Hollis' academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management with concentrations in economics and marketing from Carnegie Mellon University, a graduate business and liberal arts education from The University of Chicago and graduate studies in environmental management at Harvard University.
