Lee N. Rankin

Mr. Lee N. Rankin is the Eastern Regional Managing Partner for Carnegie Partners and the leader of our metals industry search practice.

Mr. Rankin began his career in 1973 with US Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was consistently promoted through the ranks and held positions including: Outside Sales Representative, Cleveland and Milwaukee; Product Manager, Gary, IN; District Sales Manager, Chicago, IL; National Sales Manager, Lorain, OH; and VP Commercial for USS/Kobe Steel Co. in Lorain, OH.  Lee's product experience over a 30+ year steel career has included all carbon, stainless and alloy steel products including: Sheet, Plate, Structural, Rail, Merchant products, Pipe, and Tube, with a concentration in Bar, Rod, Wire and Semi-finished products.

Lee has been a member of the Cold Finished Steel Bar Institute, American Wire Producers Association, Industrial Fasteners Institute, American Iron and Steel Institute, Forging Industry Association, and the Steel Service Center Institute.

Mr. Rankin attended the University of Minnesota on a full football scholarship and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  He is a graduate of numerous US Steel training programs including the USS Basic and Advanced Management Programs.

Mr. Rankin is the owner of Precision Metals, Inc., a global manufacturers representative and consulting firm specializing in the steel industry.
